Remedial works to this Redfern rooftop were urgently needed to fix water leaking.
But the project had a bigger purpose, to inspire residents to utilise 600m2 of space with one of the best views in Redfern for both work and play.
The main items of work included demolition, hydraulic, electrical work, waterproofing, tiling, landscaping and painting work.
Dapcor’s commitment to safety is our number one priority on site. With this project, we were also careful about working in an open area.
In addition to standard safety procedures like test and tag tools and PPE, we mitigated dust by enforcing the use of vacuum attachments to all tools as much as practically possible or by using other methods like dampening surfaces before demolition.
The whole area has been re-waterproofed, and the units below are protected from leaks.
The modern rooftop space increases the building’s sophistication. It’s now being used by residents and has great potential to lift the resale or rent price of the properties.
For those residing in the building, the design also mirrors their needs for a multifunctional work and living space. The installation of electrical/USB outlets enables residents to use the space however they choose.

Minor repairs over time had taken their toll.The project’s scope aimed to correct the imperfections: all 28 units needed balustrade upgrades, waterproofing to balconies, paving on pedestals, replacement of windows and doors and cavity flashing and extensive spalling concrete repairs. The whole building required rendering and painting.
